Chris, I was browsing around at freebsd.org and came across this, will the
floppies included in this tree allow me to ftp install from it?

You can only do FTP installs of a -RELEASE. Install a minimal
-RELEASE, cvsup(1) -STABLE source and build a -STABLE system.
