When I run it on a remote XFree86 server it produces error messages of ``unaligned access'', after several thousand such error messages it dumps core. I tried with several different XFree86 servers running on several linux machines, all have the same problem. When running on an old Tektronix Xserver I do not get the error messages and xfig runs without coredump. Main difference is, that the Tektronix is running in 8 bit Pseudo Color and all Linux machines used 24bit True Color.
