Otherwise.. I'm guessing that this is version 4.x of FreeBSD based on the fact it's using perl5. To bypass the building of perl in the base system you can add the following to /etc/make.conf NOPERL= true You can then build perl5.8 from ports afterwards and run use.perl ports. Nelis
