(I plan to use Linux but still haven't manage to set up X and PCMCIA net) What annoys me now is the ftp download "speed" on local ethernet. Couple of hours ago I've downloaded 8MB file over the Internet (I use FreeBSD box as an inet gateway) Download time: 18 minutes over ISDN. But when I tried to copy it on the laptop using standard win95 ftp client, it was even slower than that - 24 minutes. I don't think that the hardware does not allow for higher throughput, upload from win95 laptop to FreeBSD box from the same ftp session took only 32 seconds! (280KB/sec) I don't know what is the problem neither how to find out. To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
