Hi all,

this is happening on a Thinkpad X1 Yoga 3rd Gen.

The external screen is first recognized as usual HDMI-1, but after=20
a while, faster if the screen goes into powersave, the external=20
screen vanishes from xrandr output, but mostly stays sort of=20
operational.

I mainly use keyboard-driven UI, and it's mostly noticeable using=20
mouse-driven menus, which pop up on the internal screen, quite=20
annoying.
Since I have to use a lot of mouse-driven apps currently it starts=20
to really slow down my work.

xrandr of a freshly started system:

As seen, the virtual screen is also shown as disconnected but=20
works and sort of represents the external monitor and I can use=20
it, just every menu pops up on the internal screen.

* When did this start?

Since this mainly shows in popups, which I really use rarely, I=20
cannot say exactly, but it startet probably around March 2022.=20
Yeah, I'm late, but it took me a while to even figure out what was=20
going on, and then I got used to it, now I=E2=80=99m forced to use more=20
GUI programs and it is really annoying.

DRM KMOD version

To Reproduce
Start X11 and work with it :)

Can take anywhere from 10 minutes to maybe two hours.

Additional context:=20

I'm now on the third HDMI cable.

There is nothing in xorg.conf.d mentioning screen configuration.

I played around with power saving settings, but it didn=E2=80=99t change=20
anything. My current settings in loader.conf:

# Disable frame buffer compression for power savings, does not=20
  work
hw.i915kms.enable_fbc=3D0
hw.i915kms.disable_power_well=3D"-1"
# Just try if guc firmware helps (doesn=E2=80=99t)
hw.i915kms.enable_guc=3D0
