Well, the green I can't help you with. The white being a problem
probably means your monitor is running slower than your eyes
like. That's why light-on-dark was popular for so long - the available
hardware couldn't display a large display of a light color steadily
enough to not bother people. Some people are more sensitive to it than
others.
