The patch he supplied was correct and if you still have it, you should apply it (asusming you use 1.4unoff3, 1.4unoff4 or 1.5). If you don't have the patch any more, you can go to: ftp://ftp.vix.com/pub/inn/patches or http://www.isc.org/isc/inn.html to get it, where you'll also find a patch for version 1.4sec, for the same problem (but I recommend upgrading if you're still back at that version).
