To be honest, the reason I'm doing the linux version is because that
was the only option last January and I was unaware I could do it with
native FreeBSD apps.

If you don't mind some questions from me, are you building mozilla
from source or using the pre-build binary from mozilla.org?  Does the 
plugin come with the native JDK?  Do you also need the gtk?  Do you
need to create symlinks in the plugin directory?
