Do you mean for FreeBSD 2.2.6? Or, FreeBSD-current? Or, FreeBSD-stable? Each of these has a "latest source". Do you have the CD? If so, they are on the CD. You can use sysinstall to add the sources for your version of FreeBSD. You can ftp to ftp.freebsd.org, 'cd /pub/FreeBSD/' and 'get src.tar'. Look at www.freebsd.org/handbook for details.
