I see you also answered on https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=279286. Just add a patch to the issue and mention that you want to become the maintainer. Might be helpful to send another mail to the list to attract some attention to the issue from a committer. Regards, Ronald.
