Did you install binary packages? The Build Operating System is just that: the operating system X was *built* on. It may or may not cause problems. It shouldn't in this case. The only errors I saw in the log were that dri wasn't enabled (which shouldn't crash anything) and that /dev/mouse was already in use (presumably by the mouse daemon.
