"make update" only fetches the source + ports tree via cvsup.
it's just a more convenient way of calling cvsup.=20
you have to make the following entries in /etc/make.conf to use
"make update":
SUP_UPDATE=3D yes
SUP=3D /usr/local/bin/cvsup
SUPFLAGS=3D -g -L 2
SUPHOST=3D <your cvsup mirror here>
SUPFILE=3D /etc/system.cvsup
PORTSSUPFILE=3D /etc/ports.cvsup
"make {build,install}world" is still necessary.
