Sören has the source for a atapi enabled cdrecord at ftp://freebsd.dk/pub/ATA/cdrtools-1.10-ATA.tgz It only runs on the latest stable, which has an newly updated set of code for ata. If you look in the archive for stable, look for a thread with a subject of cdrecord for ATAPI burners available.
