Then before you insert the card, break into ddb (control escape): ddb> w pccardcis_debug 1 ddb> c and tell me what it prints? It sounds like maybe we're having problems setting the memory to read the CIS properly. I've seen this on one minipci-card (but I see it with OLDCARD too).
