I should say that I am coding/debugging an AIX system from home on FreeBSD and I had to change calls to 'tempnam' to calls to 'mktemp' since the FreeBSD spec is quite different from the AIX spec (which claims to be BSD conformant) but that is no excuse for the error of my ways.
