I have TT's in my X and all I did was install xfstt and follow the instructions on /usr/X11R6/share/doc/xfstt/INSTALL basically: 1. Copy fonts from windows to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/ttf and run mkfntdir in that directory 2. Add these lines to /etc/rc.local echo -n ' xfstt' /usr/X11R6/bin/xfstt & 3. Add this to FontPath in /etc/XF86Config FontPath "unix/:7101" Perhaps you're not running xfstt?
