Your cat yanked the power cord, that's what that funny smell was.

That was too much information, all we really needed to know is that you
had a computer. Now I will use my mystical telepathic powers to 
investigate.

I realize that your computer is smarter then you are, because it knows how
to properly form a mail header, instead of bcc:'ing a mailing list.

In reaction to this discovery, it decided to lure the cat over to force a
reboot. Mysteriously enough, cats are attracted to images of the BSD
daemon.
