Hello, Recently I have installed FreeBSD 5.3 (AMD64) then I updated sources to RELENG_5 and recompiled the kernel. Everything works fine except failures of onboard NIC: Feb 15 12:13:51 omega kernel: vge0: watchdog timeout Feb 15 12:13:51 omega kernel: vge0: soft reset timed outvge0: EEPROM reload timed out Feb 15 12:13:51 omega kernel: vge0: setting CAM filter failed Feb 15 12:13:51 omega kernel: miibus0: unknown CICADA PHY model 0 Feb 15 12:13:51 omega kernel: miibus0: unknown CICADA PHY model 0 it hangs, so ifconfig shows "no carrier" and I have to reboot computer. My hardware: motheboard: ABIT AV8 with VIA K8T800 Pro + VT8237 chipset cpu: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ running at 1.8GHz NIC: VIA gigabit PCI ethernet controller with operation support ACPI & wake on LAN, running on 100Mb LAN, vge0 interface boot log: vge0: <VIA Networking Gigabit Ethernet> port 0xb400-0xb4ff mem0xf8120000-0xf81200ff irq 22 at device 14.0 on pci0 kernel: miibus0: <MII bus> on vge0 kernel: vge0: Ethernet address: 00:50:8d:d1:3d:33 However, before RELENG_5 upgrades NIC worked fine (at least for 3 days)! Is there any solution for this problem? Maybe I should disable the ACPI in the BIOS? Thanks! /Alexander Konovalenko Royal Institute of Technology Stockholm, Sweden
