I have compiled sound card support into the kernel and created a /dev/sb0 and /dev/snd0 ( cd /dev ; /MAKEDEV sb0; ./MAKEDEV snd0 .On rebooting the new kernel, sb0 appears to probe OK I see sb0 at 0x220 irq7 drq 1 on isa sbo0 : sbxvi0 not found sbmidi0 not found at 0x330 Is there anything further I need to do re kernel or constructing device nodes ? Can anyone suggest what audio apps from the ports collection I could run to test capability (or otherwise) to get sound out of the speakers ? I also want to use a microphone connected to the SoundBlaster microphone jack, what app from the ports colection would be suitable to be able to exercise/test a microphone ?
