FreeBSD-8.2 installed on PackardBell iMedia 6710

I installed FreeBSD-8.2 memstick on my computer, on a slice on my Seagate ST3200826A UltraATA Hard Drive. After the installation, i rebooted and the computer showed

"Checking NVRAM... Update OK!" 

and the hunged, refusing even to boot from CD or other devices. I tried resetting CMOS, removing the battery for ten minutes, but norhing. The computer would boot only without the Seagate Hard Disk installed.
