Sven succumbs to the  NumLock  problem and Christoph Kukulies scribbled:

I've go this install idea.  As soon as the user even vaguely hints
of an X install, there's this big, bright red box (well, maybe blue
with pcvt :-) that says:

      +----------------------------------------------+
      | Warning: to prevent public ridicule tomorrow |
      |   Slam the NumLock key or frob XF86Config    |
      +----------------------------------------------+
