Hello FreeBSD gurus!
I have two computer running FreeBSD, let us call them A and B. Computer A
is in my office, it has a connection to Internet through a network card
and it has a modem that I can use to provide myself an Internet service
but not to computer B.
Computer B has another ISP, it has a modem and a sound card.
I call my ISP from computer B and I get connection to computer A in my
office. Sometimes, some friends of mine are playing with my computer and
I can communicate with them using "talk". Sometimes they are not near my
computer but I can get them from my office dialing the number of their
telephone extensions using computer A. The only think I have to do is
dial their number [you know, using ppp], they identify my call and,
knowing I'm not in my office, they make telnet to my computer and we
talk using "talk".
Can I make a computer-to-phone call using this equipment?
I mean, computer B can dial to its ISP, it can make a connection to
computer A, it can tell computer A to dial a number. Computer B send and
retrive sound through its sound card. I do not know how but perhaps it can
be sent [and retrieved] through the network to computer A. Perhaps
computer A could send and receive sound to the phone.
Am I crazy or it can be done? [perhaps I'm crazy and it can be done].
or... should I buy another telephone line and forget the whole thing?
