Attempting to install on the following hardware: ISA/PCI/VLB motherboard w/AMD K5 133mhz CPU 48MB Ram Adaptec 2940 SCSI controller Micropolis model 4345ns SCSI 4GB hard drive Sony CDU-76S SCSI CDRom 3Com 3C509 NIC Installed in the following manner: Created boot floppies from CDRom. Booted from floppies. Started kernel config in full-screen visual mode. Storage drivers: Floppy disk controller Network driver: 3C509 Ethernet adapter Novice installation Used entire disk for install (No other OS) Leave the Master Boot Record untouched Set partition selection to Auto Defaults Set "canned" distribution selection to '6 X-User' Answered 'Yes' to 'install DES cryptographic software?' Next selected 'Basic DES encryption services' Choose 'Basic' under 'XFree 3.3.5 Distribution' Selected '1 CDROM' as installation media Install then started. Partitions created successully. Step 'extracting bin into / directory' completed without a hitch. (about 30 min.) After reboot the following appears on the monitor: BTX loader 1.00 BTX version is 1.01 Console: internal video/keyboard BIOS driveA: is disk0 BIOS driveC: is disk1 FreeBSD/i386 bootstrap loader, Revision 0.7 639/48128kB (jkh@time.cdrom.com, Mon Dec 20 05:13:59 GMT 1999) Loading /boot/defaults/loader.conf Unable to load kernel: Aborted! | Hit [Enter] to boot immediately, or any other key for command prompt. Booting [kernel]... Can't load 'kernel' Type '?' for a list of commands, 'help' for more detailed help. disk1s1a:>_ It does not appear to be creating a kernel. Any suggestions?
