(PLEASE HELP) Message-Id: <19990312040054.A13960@ixion.honeywell.com> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii X-Mailer: Mutt 0.95.3i Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG I'm having a problem I cannot get past. It happens when sysinstall chroot's to the new /mnt. Ok, I'm trying to install 3.1-RELEASE. Here's my partition scheme as shown in Linux: /dev/hda1 * 1 261 2096451 6 DOS 16-bit >=32M /dev/hda2 262 663 3229065 5 Extended /dev/hda3 664 784 971932+ a5 BSD/386 /dev/hda5 262 491 1847443+ 83 Linux native /dev/hda6 492 507 128488+ 82 Linux swap /dev/hda7 508 663 1253038+ 6 DOS 16-bit >=32M Under slice /dev/hda3 (/dev/wd0s3) I have labels a and b, one which is 885M ( / ), and one 64M (swap). Sysinstall gets as far as generating files for etc, but just as it chroots (I think that happens ok) it cannot extract any dists from (/dev/wd0s1)/FreeBSD/ I mount the fixit disk, and I see there is no /mnt. Mount does show /dev/wd0s3a mounted to /mnt. I know very little of chrooted environments. Someone, tell me how to see what the hell is going on! I even tried mounting /dev/wd0s1 to /i from the fixit disk and using "filesytem" as the media after verifying all my files were there.
