says that freebsd openssl doesn't have IDEA in it. Is it because of legal
restriction in both the US and Europe ? How about having it available 
from elsewhere, much like internat.freebsd.org ? Or how about having it
in a port (openssl-idea ?).

A OpenPGP implementation using openssl would require IDEA.
