(re) Has anyone gotten asload and ascpu to work nicely on FreeBSD?
(re)
(re) I tried compiling them from what must be Linux distributions with no
(re) success yet. The closest I've come is with ascpu:
(re)
(re) paz:~[102] ascpu &
(re) [1] 10084
(re) gw.apriori.net:~[103] kvm_open: /dev/mem: Permission denied
(re) ascpu : cannot open kvm
(re)
(re) [1] Exit 1 ascpu
(re)
(re)
(re) The documentation for ascpu says:
(re)
(re) "Notes: Avatar Liang <avatar@www.mmlab.cse.yzu.edu.tw>
(re) points out: The FreeBSD version uses the kvm_XXX functions.
(re) Using these functions requires 'kmem' group privilege. Therefore
(re) the ascpu binary must setgid to kmem."
(re)
(re) Not being well-versed in compiling stuff, this has me stumped.

Try chown kmem.kmem ascpu
then run it
