I am attempting to install the jdk1.1.8 port on my
machine. It is running version 3.2.
 I have pkg_added the 32upgrade to 3 stable. The
error I'm getting is:
"/usr/ports/Mk/bsd.port.mk", line 0:Cannot open
/usr/ports/Mk/bsd.port.mk
"Makefile", line 29:malformed conditional
(${PORTOBJFORMAT} == "aout")
"Makefile", line 29: Need an operator
"Makefile", line 31: if-less else
"Makefile", line 31: Need an operator
"Makefile", line 33: if-less endif
"Makefile", line 33: Need an operator
make: fatal errors encountered -- cannot continue
I had to add the directories ports, distfiles, and Mk
to /usr. Everything in /usr/share/mk, is in
/usr/ports/Mk.
I did download an 11 MB tar.gz jdk1.1.8 file and added
it as a package when I couldn't get the port to build.
Java works, but I would like to fix the port system.
Not related to this, but are distfiles source forms of
packages? After reading the handbook, my guess is
they are.

Thanks in advance, Ian
