Yep, CDPLAYER is set in /etc/profile for all. > Does "dmesg | grep wcd" report something like this? > wcd0: 1377Kb/sec, 240Kb cache, audio play, 255 volume levels, > ejectable tray > wcd0: no disc inside, unlocked wcd0: tray open one hundred and fifty one times. It wasn't, but there was no cd in it. > > Does /dev/wcd0a exist? > > Does cdplayer work? > Yes, and yes. /dev/wcd0c is there too. Dunno what that is for. $ ls -la /dev/wcd* brwxrwxrwx 1 root operator 19, 0 Jan 10 13:30 /dev/wcd0a brw-r----- 1 root operator 19, 2 Jan 10 13:30 /dev/wcd0c I changed the perms...... Now xcd just does nothing, and cdplayer gives "bad file descriptor" after running xcd, until I've mucked about a bit. Thanks....... -- ---------------------------------- E-Mail: Geoff C.
