I am a little confused with this statement. Does this mean you are having problems surfing with your Windows machine, or do you have a service on the Windows machine that you cannot access from the outside? > in rc.conf I have this for my natd_flags="-redirect_port 192.168.0.2:80 80 > with my understanding of it that should allow the windows machine to > access the internet through a browser according to the handbook and if > the :80 80 was a :6667 6667 i would be able to use the irc port i've > tried both and neither worked am I setting up the redirect command wrong > that's what I feel I am doing thanks Ryan If all you want is for your Windows machine to be able to access the Internet, then you do not need to redirect any ports. If you are having problems accessing the Internet, then it probably means that you have NAT inproperly configured. The only time you need to redirect ports is when you might have services on your windows machine (i.e. a web server) that you want others on the Internet to be able to access. --- Damien Tougas Systems Administrator Carroll-Net, Inc. http://www.carroll.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
