https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D209365 Bug ID: 209365 Summary: archivers/rar: Doesn't actually need misc/compat9x Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: freebsd-ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: cyberbotx@cyberbotx.com CC: des@FreeBSD.org, gabor@FreeBSD.org CC: des@FreeBSD.org, gabor@FreeBSD.org Created attachment 170096 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=3D170096&action= =3Dedit rar.patch archivers/rar installs a statically linked version of the rar executable. A= s a result, the misc/compat9x dependency is not actually needed by rar itself. = I've been told it is needed by self-extractors made with rar (see bug #199704), = but otherwise, it is not needed at all. If it would be better to make this an OPTION, like the aforementioned bug suggests, I could provide a replacement patch for that. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
