Why? The manual didn't ask me to do so. I luckily found this article from freebsdbsddiary http://www.freebsddiary.org/cups.php Nice article. I realized I should call /usr/local/bin/lpr rather than /usr/bin/lpr. Now the printer is working. And it seems I cannot go to 631 port because of "permission denied".
