Handbook is a tutorial. And looking at files in /bin, /sbin/ etc.. and 
doing man was my way of learning unix years ago.

what's wrong?

Xorg is not part of FreeBSD, not always work, may be not wanted in many 
cases and finally .. there are no need for any graphics to read text
