I boot up using the CD, all goes well, i get to the sysinstall main menu, and i carry on, i create partitions, 4 of them, one for /, one for /var, one for /usr/home, and one for swap (in that order). I then write the information, which all goes well. The problem comes in when i try and write the label information. I set it up as above. The error i get is the one below: Unable to swap to /dev/ad0s4b: Device not configured I push enter, to get to the next error Unable to make new root filesystem on /dev/ad0s1a Command returned status 1 In the debug screen, i get : DEBUG: Scanning disk ad0 for root filesystem DEBUG: Scanning disk ad0 for swap partitions newfs: /dev/ad0s1a: 'a' partition is unavailable The hdd is fine, because just before i was gonna change it to bsd, i was using it in doze ... I tried changing drives just to make sure, but still nothing. I even tried to install 4.3, i thought maybee the code for sysinstall was buggy. This makes no sence, as the other drive i tried has bsd on it before i got a bigger one ... so it did work. Any help would be great Thanks Ian ------------------------- BOFH - Mom's Pharmacies Email - ian@cerebellum.za.net ------------------------- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hardware" in the body of the message
