This might be the case:

cdce0: <F5521gw Mobile Broadband Network Adapter> on usbus1
ue0: <USB Ethernet> on cdce0
ue0: Ethernet address: 02:80:37:ec:02:00

And indeed, ue0 is listed with ifconfig:

$ ifconfig ue0
ue0: flags=8802<BROADCAST,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500
        ether 02:80:37:ec:02:00
        nd6 options=29<PERFORMNUD,IFDISABLED,AUTO_LINKLOCAL>
