My understanding is that the driver writers and Intel have had some
difficulties in negotiating access to the manuals for these boards.
Given that, my impression is that the support on these boards
is not as strong as say the Alteon based or  SysKonnect NICs.

Recently, several vendors seem to be releasing NICs based on the
broadcom chipsets (I'm not sure which particular model) such as
the 3COM 3C966-T.  I'm not sure what level of suport these will have
in FreeBSD.
