In this case, an int argument supplies the Ahhhhhhh... I read this totally wrong - I read "argument" to be "argument to the % expression, e.g. "%*8s" Foo. I don't know quite why it struck me that way the first time, but it did. Your explanation makes a lot more sense! :-) I will close the PR. Jordan
