/usr/local/linux-jdk1.3.1/jre/bin/i386/native_threads/java_vm
/usr/local/linux-jdk1.3.1/bin/i386/native_threads/java_vm

   So, in a word, no. :-) Nor did the java_vm seem to be found
   in /usr/ports/java/jdk13... And, I don't believe I had done
   a "make clean" since I last installed java...
