Well i found out some things you may want to look: the command vidcontrol(1), syscons(4) and then /usr/defaults/rc.conf has this line (375) in section "system console options" allscreens_flags="" # Set this vidcontrol mode for all virtual screens the modes are listed in vidcontrol and there are other interesting options in this section. Because if i understood well then you have problems with the console and the gui, is this right? Well the console has nothing to do with xorg.conf in this case. This is set before you start the xserver. I tryied allscreens_flags="VGA_90x60" i reboot but didn't work. However I won't be able to see the machine for the next two weeks. Let me know if you make it work.
