I also tried to use burncd to get the error message I mentioned in my earlier mail, but this time I got a kernel panic instead. I didn't see exactly what happened, but when I returned to the computer I saw this: burncd: ioctl(CDRIOCSETBLOCKSIZE): Device not configured burncd: ioctl(CDRIOCSETBLOCKSIZE): Device not configured burncd: ioctl(CDRIOCSETBLOCKSIZE): Device not configured ... burncd: ioctl(CDRIOCSETBLOCKSIZE): Device not configured Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode fault virtual address = 0x0 fault code = supervisor read, page not present instruction pointer = 0x8:0xc0440470 stack pointer = 0x10:0xd4030bfc frame pointer = 0x10:0xd4030c08 code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xffff, type 0x1b = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0 current process = 2 (g_event) trap number = 12 panic: page fault I'm happy to provide extra information. I could look up the offending code with the kernel debugger tomorrow (it's 1AM, so I don't feel like it now). dmesg output as attachment. - edvard --/04w6evG8XlLl3ft Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=dmesg Copyright (c) 1992-2004 The FreeBSD Project.
