Unfortunately, LOCALBASE is /usr/opt, and the port apparently doesn't change the default locations that it looks for fonts to include LOCALBASE/share/fonts. I fixed this problem - well, mostly - by adding a fontDir line top ~/.xpdfdir that points to a collection of commercial fonts that include the 14 base fonts. xpdf complains about not being able to find the fonts, but renders pages properly anyway. http://www.mired.org/consulting.html Independent Network/Unix/Perforce consultant, email for more information.
