'Lo all. Seems I've got an old copy of libc.so.2.1 on my machine. Don't ask me how it got there, it's a long story. At any rate, I've managed to isolate the file to a lone directory called /usr/lib.bad with only the aforementioned file in it. I checked the /var/run/ld.so.hints file and see that nothing is referencing this file. I've got the other (good) copy in /usr/lib. The problem is, I can't get rid of it! I've booted in single user mode, run /stand/rm to bypass the static libraries, tried to mount a floppy and move it there then unmount the floppy, rename it and then delete it, etc, and nothing will blast it away. I ran fsck to see if there was something wrong with me drive...nope. I checked the manpage for ld but didn't see any clues in there. Did I miss something? Does anybody know how I can get rid of this old library file?
