I've changed the way to go at it. We also run a chrooted env for most
of the servers. So I needed a special way to get authentication with
the regular passwd file.

So I made a mod_authPOP module. It uses POP3 for authentication. It's still
in a very rough format and has very little(none) documentation. I you still
want it, mail me.
