Actually, after failing to receive an answer to the problem, one individual did contact me stating that they experience the same phenomena. Their solution was to install various kde ports individually, and then attempt to install the meta port. I took their advice, and voil=C3=A0, it succeed= ed. Thanks for your suggestion anyway.
