[please don't top-post, it makes responding more difficult]

The xmlto: error doesn't happen here, but I don't know why.  Maybe 
textproc/docbook-xml-440 is missing.

If libXfont honors NOPORTDOCS, building with that variable set might 
avoid the problem without fixing it.
