On my 7.0 stable system I'm able to run most of compiz 0.7.2 as well the 3d plugin. I also run the latest xorg releases along with a snaphot of mesa and tweaked drm so your mileage may vary. I did find that the universal makefile is not universal however as it didn't compile and link in the freewins.c resulting in a similar runtime error. I fixed it by hand.
