If the mac address isn't printed on the device or in the documentation that came with it, one way to get it is to fire it up with bootp and then look in your bootpd or dhcpd log. If you're running ISC dhcpd the log will have entries like this: Dec 6 08:31:35 bach dhcpd: BOOTREQUEST from 08:00:09:48:6c:84 via fxp0 Dec 6 08:31:35 bach dhcpd: No applicable record for BOOTP host 08:00:09:48:6c:84 via fxp0 bootpd logs something similar and hopefully so do other servers. -Mitch To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
