Whilst using a Radeon 9250 (R280?), I have no problems. There is also no apparent performance difference. The only issue I have seen occurs with my dual-monitor setup. Occasionally a window on the second monitor will decide to render its drop-down menus or other (overlay-based?) graphics on the primary monitor instead of where it should be. Restarting the application seems to clear this up. I have not seen this previously before applying your patch.
