Release 2.2.7, yes. I can mount, read and write to my Windows (95
however) FAT32 partition without problems.

Which release did you installed? How did you "find out" that the
filesystem wasn't compatible?

Yes. I think the default boot manager should do it. If not, the os-bs boot
manager will get you what you need. It's the one I currently use to boot
FreeBSD 2.2.7 and Windows95 (using FAT32). 

You can find it at:
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/tools/osbs.exe or something like that
in the "tools" directory.
