Whenever I do a make install in my ports directory things go well till the
very end when the install aborts with the following message:

[port dependent code line]: unknown group wheel

*** Error Code 1

Stop

I'm sure this is a simple thing to fix.  Would someone please give me some
advice?  

Also, FYI, in the /etc/group file, I do have a line that says:
wheel:*:0:root,steve
