As an admin, you have to deal with those kinds of problems anyways, because in such an environment, things like that are simply going to happen (you may wish to note my .signature... got at least a decade of experience with it). I'm quite comfortable having the equivalent of "kill -9" for a tty, and not having to rely on "well did I kill the right process in order to make the tty log out". -- ...
